Tear of Joy

Tear of Joy is the project of Italian-born DJ Cristopher Michelagnoli. He started playing rave parties at 16, growing up between psytrance and techno, and his uncle's vinyl collection of house, Brazilian funk and acid house shaped the sound he went on to find.

At 23 he moved to London to study music, and within a year of launching Tear of Joy he was playing E1, Electric Brixton, Egg London and Shoreditch Platform. The name comes from his belief that the strongest emotions music can give are the ones that land on your face as a tear of joy.
